Workshop, reading and teaching experience:

Ethan Gilsdorf is a veteran poetry performer. He’s given dozens of readings in New York (the New School, NY Public Library), Paris (the Sorbonne), London, Vermont, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Louisiana and elsewhere. He has also been a visiting poet at Wheaton College (Mass) and has twice been the featured poet at the Lizard Lounge Poetry Jam in Cambridge (Mass).

His festival, conferece and panel appearances include Grub Street's Muse and the Marketplace, the New Hampshire Tourism Summit, Paris Poetry Workshop, Shakespeare and Company's Literary and Arts Festival, the Paris Writers Workshop, the Festival franco-anglais de poésie and the Ultimate Travel Writers Workshop in Paris. He is the former Paris regional coordinator for Poets For Peace/United Poets Coalition, has coordinated Dialogue Through Poetry/UNESCO World Poetry Day readings and has organized dozens of other readings, lectures, concerts and other events.

Gilsdorf tecahes at Grub Street, Boston's oldest non-profit writing center, and mediabistro.com. He is also a former English composition and poetry workshop instructor (Louisiana State University) and has given lectures on poetry and poetry writing for numerous schools and summer programs such as Marlboro College, Boxboro Elementary School (Massachusetts), the Putney (Vermont) School Summer Programs, Oxbridge Summer Program, and Menlo College’s European study abroad program. He presently volunteers in the Boston Public Schools system as a writing and English tutor and career enrichment speaker.

In 2005-07, he has been a guest lecturer, workshop leader, writing/English volunteer tutor, literary consultant and visiting poet in Boston-area school such as Brighton High School, Monument High School, Madison Park Technical Vocational High School, and Cambridge Rindge and Latin, as well as High Mowings School, Wilton, New Hampshire.
